Some meals become part of the vacation story. The Old Mill Restaurant is one of those Pigeon Forge dining experiences, combining scratch-made Southern cooking with the atmosphere of a historic working mill and the peaceful setting of the Little Pigeon River.
Family-owned since 1993, the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Its location beside the historic Old Mill makes it easy to turn a meal into a longer outing with shopping, sightseeing, and a little time by the river.
The Old Mill Restaurant is located at 164 Old Mill Avenue in Pigeon Forge, directly beside the historic Old Mill.
The restaurant is known for hearty Southern meals prepared from scratch, including homemade biscuits, stone-ground grits, pancakes, fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, country-style dishes, vegetables, soups, and homemade desserts.
Breakfast is served daily from 8 AM to 11 AM, followed by lunch from 11 AM to 4 PM and dinner from 4 PM to 9:30 PM.
The restaurant does not take reservations, so guests should expect a wait during busy periods. Free parking is available for Old Mill guests, and the Pigeon Forge trolley system stops nearby at Patriot Park.
The restaurant’s connection to the historic mill is also part of the experience. The on-site mill produces ingredients used throughout the Old Mill food operation, including stone-ground grains used in several recipes.
Classic Southern comfort food
The menu focuses on familiar, hearty dishes that work especially well for families looking for a traditional Smoky Mountain meal.
A meal with a sense of place
Dining beside the historic Old Mill gives the restaurant an atmosphere that feels connected to Pigeon Forge rather than like a standalone restaurant anywhere in town.
Something for every meal of the day
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all available daily, making it easy to work the restaurant into different types of itineraries.
Scratch-made traditions
The restaurant prepares a remarkable volume of food from scratch each day, including biscuits, pancakes, mashed potatoes, corn fritters, and pecan pies.
Easy to combine with an Old Mill outing
Guests can make a complete outing of the visit by exploring the surrounding shops, pottery, candy, and other Old Mill experiences before or after the meal.
The Old Mill Restaurant is especially fitting for a Sunshine Around the Bend group because it turns dinner into a shared experience rather than simply another stop for food.
Give yourselves time to explore the Old Mill area before or after your meal, then head back to the cabin when you’re ready for a quieter evening. With a full kitchen, dining space, hot tub, wooded deck, and private fire table, Sunshine Around the Bend gives your group plenty of room to keep gathering long after dinner is finished.
