Disneyland Christmas 2026

Disneyland Christmas 2026: Dates, New Additions, and Planning Tips

Disneyland Christmas season is back, and 2026 brings an earlier start, a new home for Santa, and the return of a fan-favorite nighttime show. Holidays at the Disneyland Resort runs November 13, 2026 through January 6, 2027, covering both theme parks, Downtown Disney, and the resort hotels.

Here is a clear, practical guide to what is happening, what is new, and how to plan your days so you actually see the things you are driving or flying in for.

Disneyland Christmas 2026 dates and what is included

Disney originally announced a November 18 start, then moved the season forward to November 13, 2026, matching recent years. The season closes January 6, 2027, a 55-day run.

Nearly everything on the holiday lineup is included with regular park admission and a valid park reservation. The paid extras are character dining, guided tours, and the Sip and Savor Pass at Disney California Adventure.

What is new for the 2026 holiday season

  • Santa moves to Toontown. Santa greets guests at the Mickey’s Toontown Trolley Barn near Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin through December 24. At Disney California Adventure he appears at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.
  • New character costumes. Mickey, Minnie, and friends wear new holiday attire inspired by holiday travel and a wintery alpine gathering.
  • World of Color – Season of Light returns after sitting out the 2025 season.
  • Haunted Mansion Holiday turns 25. The ballroom gingerbread creation takes the shape of a monstrous music box this year.
  • The Holiday Time guided tour returns, with reserved parade viewing and stories about Walt Disney’s own family traditions.

The Disneyland Christmas shows worth building your day around

Three things define the season at Disneyland Park. A Christmas Fantasy Parade rolls through with reindeer, toy soldiers, dancing gingerbread cookies, and a Santa finale, and reserved seating is available through a Plaza Inn dining package.

“Believe…In Holiday Magic” lights Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle with roughly 80,000 lights and ends in snowfall. In 2026 that snow reaches the castle, “it’s a small world” Holiday, the Rivers of America, and parts of Main Street, U.S.A., so you have real alternatives to the Main Street crowds.

And “it’s a small world” Holiday is worth seeing twice: once as a ride, once from outside after dark when the facade is washed in some 400,000 lights and projections.

Over at Disney California Adventure

Disney Festival of Holidays brings six marketplaces of seasonal food and drink, plus Disney Viva Navidad, Mirabel’s Gifts of the Season, and A Musical Christmas with Mariachi Alegria de Disneyland and Miguel on select days. Cars Land gets its haul-iday makeover with Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree.

How to plan a Disneyland Christmas trip without burning out

  1. Pick your week carefully. Mid-November through the first week of December is the sweet spot: full decor, lighter crowds than the Christmas-to-New-Year stretch.
  2. Two parks, two days minimum. The holiday layer alone adds hours of parade, fireworks, festival, and ride-overlay content.
  3. Check showtimes the morning of. Parade and fireworks times shift with park hours and weather, so confirm in the app before you commit an afternoon.
  4. Book dining early. Holiday character dining runs November 16 to January 3 and fills quickly.
  5. Plan one slow evening. Downtown Disney has nightly snowfall, live entertainment, and the Ornament Trail, a low-cost night that needs no park ticket.

Traveling for the holidays somewhere else?

Smoky Mountain vacation home, an alternative to a Disneyland Christmas trip

If a Disneyland Christmas is not in the cards this year, the same planning logic applies to any holiday trip: book early, pick the shoulder weeks, and stay somewhere that gives the family room to slow down between big days. Our Smoky Mountain cabins and vacation homes fill the same way, and the best holiday weeks go first.
